For too long, many women have been content to consider guns as simply part of a "man's world."  For years, some have tolerated the shrill voices of anti-Americans who want to tear down every freedom our forefathers fought and died for.  And at the forefront of their attacks is our precious right to keep and bear arms.  They just don't get it...

Take away America's legally owned handguns and nobody will have them except America's criminals! 

For years, with the exception of the NRA, many have been asleep at the switch, ignoring those who would steal away our 2nd Amendment rights.  Today, street criminals are like hungry wolves at the door in many cities.  They (violent criminals) are armed to the teeth and always will be, while liberal, Brady Law types want to disarm every last God-fearing, law abiding, citizen, especially women!

But before we delve deeper, let me tell you a little more about myself...

I've enjoyed a lifelong love affair with guitars and guns.  An only child, I grew up playing music in local churches, hunting, fishing and shooting.  In high school, I was in the F.F.A., raised show cattle, rode horses, hunted and delved deeper into the world of firearms.  After graduating high school, I went to work for a major oil company and got married. 

In 1981, I was diagnosed with cancer and went through a nightmare for the next two years recovering from the treatments that saved my life.  In the middle of it all, my wife divorced me unexpectedly.  Those were dark days.   

In the mid-eighties I began taking college courses at night and earned a B.S. degree with honors in Legal Studies - American Jurisprudence from the University of Houston/Clear Lake.  Afterwards, I attended South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas.  A few years later, I would use my legal education to bring my own winning lawsuit against an appraisal district for an unfair property tax appraisal.   

In 1990, I became an ordained minister and started a new career as a full-time pastor.  Later, I received a Th.D. from a seminary in Oklahoma.  I've worked with criminal youth gangs and traveled for years as a motivational speaker in churches nationwide.  I've even written and recorded gospel music and several country songs which climbed into the Top 40 on the New Music Weekly country radio charts during 2004-2006.     

In my lifetime, I've raised three daughters and lost both parents.  I've taken the good with the bad.  Yet, I guess there was a purpose for all of these experiences in my life.

Because one day, the rubber hit the road...    

From 1995 until 2004, I served as a sworn chaplain for the local police department and was plunged into the dangerous world of police officers and criminals.  I was involved in all kinds of scary situations, including armed backup for police officers on occasion.  Part of my duties included "death notifications to next of kin," and I often witnessed the terrible aftermath of violent death.  I spent hours walking, riding, talking, laughing, and even crying with police officers because of the horrors we saw together.  My "blue family" became very important to me and these chapters of my life provided an education like no other.  I would not trade it for anything! 

Because of my disturbing life and death experiences, I am even more convinced in the concept of handguns for women and that American women should keep and bear arms for their own protection!

Don't get me wrong!  I am not advocating vigilantism or taking the law into your own hands... God forbid! 

But I am fearlessly talking about handguns for women, concealed carry, and helping women discover the best ways and means to protect themselves when the bad guy attacks and no one else is there to help! 

So what type of women are "HANDGUN GIRLS?"  

Handgun Girls are law-abiding women of all ages who enjoy firearms, with a focus on handguns.  They do not represent a particular segment of American society, but come from all walks of life.  Handgun Girls are of every race, creed, and color.  In most cases, they are wonderful people to know and easy to get along with, except when confronted with criminal violence.         

Ladies, no matter what the anti-gun naysayers are currently chanting about violence, concealed carry laws, and handguns for women, none of them will be there to help you when the midnight hour comes and the wolf is at your door!   They cling to the incredibly arrogant notion that you will listen to them and never cast another thought in the direction of taking action to protect yourself and your family.  But with the powerful information in my book, none of those things can possibly be true for you.

Myth #1:  Handguns are for men only.

This is pure nonsense!  Women are just as capable of owning, handling, and enjoying handguns as men.  To think otherwise is utterly ridiculous.  Down through the annals of history, women and firearms have always been intimately acquainted.  What would have become of our pioneering ancestors on the frontier if women had no access to or knowledge of guns?  While accurate statistics are hard to acquire on this topic, some sources have reported that as many as 15 million American women now own handguns or other types of firearms.  And the number is growing.   

According to the National Sporting Goods Association, between 2003 and 2008, the number of women hunting with firearms rose from 2.1 million to 2.9 million; and women who target shoot increased from 4.1 million to 4.8 million.  Also, from professionals to stay-at-home moms, there has been a steady increase in the number of women signing up for concealed handgun licensing courses across the nation.  More and more women realize the value in handgun ownership and training. 

No more walking through this world in fear!  The last thing America's criminals want is for women to arm themselves with powerful handguns and proper training!  That's all the more reason why you need "Handgun Girls: How Armed Females are Hard Targets for Criminals."

Myth #2:  You don't need a handgun; the police will protect you. 

Evil can sweep over you in seconds, while the police are minutes away.  If you live in rural areas, response times may be far worse.  Police investigate crime AFTER it happens. 

No matter what the anti-gun crowd says about police protection, police presence, etc., the truth is shocking:  POLICE HAVE NO LEGAL DUTY TO PROTECT YOU!  Police officers are human beings and most of them feel an abiding moral duty to protect.  However, I'm not talking about human feelings just now.  I'm talking about the realities and shortcomings of American law. 

The law says, "...there is no Constitutional right to be protected by the state against being murdered by criminals or madmen."  Therefore, you, and only you, are responsible for your security and the security of your family.  This is the essence of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in the early 1980's that the police do not have a duty to protect you as an individual, but to protect society as a whole.

Myth #3:  Women should study martial arts, not handguns for self-defense.

A wise old owl once said, "A gun in the hands of a trained and determined female is more effective against a violent criminal than hand-to-hand combat."  If you let the bad guy get close enough to physically touch you, he's too close.  Unless, of course, you live in Hollywood fantasyland and believe everything you see in the movies.  Too many females are wasting time and money on martial arts training hoping for something more than physical exercise.  Sadly, even if you're a black belt, trying to stand your ground and fight a violent criminal could get you killed. 

Handgun Girls prefer to use bullets.  In fact, a majority of felons polled have stated they have more fear of an armed victim than they do the police.  (You'll find this in my book).  However, I have found no poll data supporting the notion that serious felons fear women claiming proficiency in martial arts.      

Now, I'm not putting down martial arts training per se.  (I certainly don't need those good folks hating on me just now.)  I'm only pointing out that the bad guy could care less about your martial arts training when he points a 9mm pistol at you from 5 feet away.  Besides, your attacker went to a different fighting school than you did (state or federal prison) and he outweighs you by at least 100 lbs.!  Can you handle him? 

Hmm... In this scenario, the only thing that will give you a decent chance for survival is your concealed carry handgun and the skill to get righteous with it when the moment of truth comes and no other alternatives are available. 

This brings me (happily) to the next myth...

Myth #4:  Gun owners are compensating for something.

More idiotic nonsense.  However, (just for fun) I could utilize this insulting statement for reasons other than the naysayers intended.  Stay with me...  By owning and legally carrying a concealed handgun, I am compensating for being outnumbered by criminal offenders who use guns illegally.  No matter that these felons supposedly lost their right to bear arms, they ALWAYS find ways to get more illegal guns to use against you and me in pursuit of their criminal enterprises.  I need to compensate for that by lawfully carrying a concealed handgun and so do you!  That's why I believe in handguns for women...

I own guns because I've needed to compensate for raising children who needed protection from every kind of evil.  I need to compensate for not feeling like throwing myself on the mercy of the merciless in a convenience store stickup.  I need to compensate for not having my own personal police force to protect me 24/7 and having to depend on myself for protection.  I need to compensate for my inability to physically hurl tiny bits of lead at thousands of feet per second and disable the bad guy who is busy trying to kill me with a sawed-off shotgun.

I think you get the point...
